Hat Fair Festival Production Manager 2017
Fixed Fee: £7,500 to include expenses

The UK’s longest running festival of outdoor arts is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead on all aspects of the planning and delivery of the production, scheduling and operational activity for Hat Fair 2017 (30th June – 2nd July).

Working closely with the Hat Fair Director and the Event Management Company, Ian Nolan Events, key elements of the role include budget management, artist and venue liaison, identifying and ordering technical equipment, and creating production schedules.

Fixed Fee: £7,500 to include expenses.
Accommodation in Winchester and meals provided during festival week.

Front of House Assistant
Theatre Royal Winchester is seeking to employ a Front of House Assistant to join the Front of House team during performances.

We have a beautiful 400 seat venue, rich in history but fully attuned to the 21st century. We present a dynamic programme of the highest quality drama, music, dance, comedy, children’s theatre and pantomime. Situated at the cultural heart of the city of Winchester we are committed to bringing our audiences the best work, as well as supporting artists and performers.

The ideal candidate will be confident and friendly, will have experience of bar work and customer service in a busy theatre environment, and will be a good communicator with a keen eye for detail.

Working closely with the Theatre Manager the successful applicant will look after the theatre, audiences and staff, maintain excellent standards of service, assist with developing income streams from trading areas and support operational developments across all areas.

This is a casual contract, predominantly involving weekend and evening work.

Young Theatre Royal Voluntary Assistants
Young Theatre Royal is relaunching in September 2016 and is looking for Voluntary Assistants for each of its sessions to support the lead practitioner and gain experience in working with young people engaging with the arts.

This exciting opportunity offers the chance to work with highly skilled professional practitioners and enrich the lives of young people through regular weekly sessions, culminating in an annual showcase. Successful volunteers will be able to demonstrate passion and enthusiasm for the arts and young people, keen to learn and will be reliable.

Work Experience

We are currently not offering work experience placements.

Volunteering

We are always looking for dedicated volunteers of all ages to join our friendly Front of House team.

Volunteering is one of the best ways to gain valuable experience of working in a theatre and to add a string to your bow for future employment. It’s a great way to meet new people, learn new skills and become part of our lovely theatre.

  • You make our audiences feel welcome and comfortable, and ensure they leave with a smile on their face.
  • You don’t have to commit to a lot of time (unless you want to!) and we’d love to have you on board.

Painter/Decorator Voluntees

The maintenance team work alongside the Maintenance Manager carrying out general maintenance tasks at Theatre Royal Winchester.

We are currently looking for a volunteer Painter/ Decorator to join the team 2 days a week. This volunteer position is ideal for anyone who has DIY or Painting knowledge.
