Box Office FAQs

When is the box office open?
10am to 5pm Monday to Saturday.
The box office will stay open on show days until 15 minutes after the show has started. On Sunday shows the box office will be open at least 1 hour before the show starts and until 15 minutes after the performance has begun.

Can I book online?
Yes. Visit What’s On and get booking.

Is there a booking fee?
All ticket prices include £1 restoration levy (excluding Community Events) and £1 booking fee. There are no hidden extras.
From January 2018 the restoration levy will increase to £2 to continue to support our listed building.

Are concessions available?
Yes but it depends on each show. Some will have them others will not. Please call our box office on 01962 840440 if you are unsure whether concessions apply.

Do you have wheelchair spaces?
Yes, we have six wheelchair spaces available. Please note that these spaces can only be booked by through the box office and can not be booked online.

Are all concessions available online?
The majority of concessions are available online. Unfortunately, some concessions are only available via the box office and not online. If you are a wheelchair user or are trying to make a group booking of 8 or more please call our box office on 01962 840440 to book.

Can I have my tickets posted?
Yes, there is a £1 postage fee.

Can I choose my seats online?
Yes, there is an option to pick seats from a seating plan online.

Can I reserve tickets?
Yes, you can reserve tickets for up to 3 working days, after which they will be released for general sale. Reservations are not available online. Tickets can not be reserved if it’s 7 days or fewer before the performance.

How do I make a large group booking?
Call our box office on 01962 840440 and a member of the team will help you with your group requirements.

What is a family ticket?
A family ticket consists of 4 tickets. The group must consist at least one adult and one child under 16, unless stated otherwise.

Do I need to buy a ticket for my 2 year old?
If your child is under 24 months old, they can sit on your lap and you do not need to buy them a ticket for a seat.

Do you sell gift vouchers?

Are tickets refundable?
Unfortunately we are not able to offer a refund on tickets once they have been booked. If there is more than one performance of a show we may be able to swap your tickets to an alternative day (depending on availability). Please call the box office on 01962 840 440 to see if an exchange is possible. Please note tickets can only be exchanged for another day within the performance run you have already booked for.

I really wanted tickets for a show but it’s sold out, what can I do?
Don’t worry! Just call the box office on 01962 840440 and add your name to the waiting list for the sold out show. If tickets become available we will contact you.

General FAQs

Is there parking at the theatre?
We don’t have our own car park but there are plenty available nearby. The nearest car parks are Tower Street multi-storey on Tower Street and the Discovery Centre Car Park on Jewry Street. Visit Parking for more information.

Can I get something to eat at the theatre?
Yes, our bars have a range of crisps and sweets.

Can I order a drink for the interval?
Yes, interval drinks can be pre-ordered from any of our bars and will be available for you during the interval. Please note some shows may not have an interval.

When can I go into the auditorium to sit down?
We usually open the auditorium doors 30 minutes before the start of a show. You can take your seats as soon as the doors are open.

Will I be let in if I am late for a performance?
Latecomers will be admitted into the auditorium during a suitable break in the performance. We will try and seat you as soon as we can.

Can I film/take photos/use my mobile phone in the auditorium?
No, due to copyright laws the use of all photographic and recording equipment is not allowed unless otherwise stated. This includes the use of mobile phones. We respectfully ask that you switch off mobile phones, pagers, watch alarms and anything else that may disturb the performance for both the actors and audience.

Do you sell ice creams?
Yes, we sell ice creams during the interval or before the show at the bars.

What time do the bars open?
Our bars and cafe open 1 hour and 15 minutes before the start of a show.

I would like to give some feedback, who do I talk to?
We welcome any comments you may have about a show or our customer service.
