All Aboard the Bluestar No1
Members of the Beauty and the Beast cast hopped onto the the Bluestar No1 bus to celebrate the travel partnership between Theatre Royal Winchester and Bluestar. Bluestar are the official Travel Partner between Southampton and Winchester for the pantomime season.
Bluestar, as Southern Hampshire’s main inter-urban bus operator, provides efficient travel services across Southampton, Winchester and the Waterside. The company prides itself on delivering quick, easy travel for people living and working in the region, and is partnering with Theatre Royal Winchester to offer families in Southampton a great travel alternative to the venue’s annual Christmas pantomime.
Both organisations are passionate about the environment, encouraging theatregoers to leave their cars at home – a full Bluestar bus takes up to 75 cars off the road – supporting clean air in the city, and avoiding traffic and parking costs.
Bluestar’s Joe Quinlan said: “We’re thrilled to be the official travel partner of what promises to be a very popular festive show here at the Theatre Royal Winchester. It’s expected to attract large audiences, and we’re standing by to transport them to this magical performance of Beauty and the Beast.
“This is a great opportunity for theatregoers to leave their cars at home and let our drivers do the work, so they can sit back and enjoy watching Belle find her Prince. Oh yes she will!”
Beauty and the Beast is great fun for the whole family, featuring laugh-out-loud jokes, original songs, and audience interaction aplenty. Families living in Southampton can travel to Winchester on the Bluestar 1 service, which departs from the city up to every fifteen minutes. By encouraging audience members to utilise this mode of transportation, Theatre Royal Winchester hopes to ease the congestion of traffic in Winchester during the city’s busy Christmas period.
“We are delighted to welcome Bluestar on board as the pantomime’s official travel partner, alongside The Brooks Shopping Centre who kindly sponsors the production. Winchester really embraces the spirit of Christmas and we want to encourage as many people as possible to leave their cars at home and take a trip to the city to enjoy a spot of shopping and our traditional panto.” – Kirstie Mathieson, Marketing and Communications Director at Theatre Royal Winchester.
Beauty and the Beast is also generously sponsored by The Brooks Shopping Centre.
Beauty and the Beast runs until Sunday 6 January 2019.
