Meeting Joey: War Horse

Our new Youth Theatre Manager, Carl, took his War Horse to see the real Joey.
Previously, Carl had been working with a group of autistic youngsters from Oak Lodge Specialist Arts College in the New Forest. The team created their very own Warhorse puppet and were able to bring him to life and catch the attention of the National Theatre.
Earlier in the week pupils were invited to the New London Theatre to meet the real Joey, of War Horse fame, along with his creators.
Carl said: “It was a truly remarkable day and a wonderful experience. I can’t wait to create exciting opportunities and projects for Young Theatre Royal!”
This education project was the culmination of a project led by Carl in association with the National Theatre & Mayflower Southampton.
