We had a Ball
100 years old and we still know how to party!
Thank you to the Fulflood Ball committee for putting on a spectacular charity ball last Saturday (5 April) to celebrate the centenary of Theatre Royal Winchester.
The evening kicked off at 7.30pm with a bubbly drinks reception and then guests sat down to a sumptuous three course dinner. All the while guests were entertained by the talented music students of Peter Symonds College and dazzled by the trickery of the Winchester Magical Society.
Once dinner was over local band Headrush took to the stage and together with a few sets from DJ James Flint had people bopping on the dance floor until the early hours of the morning.
But for those whose feet got tired the upstairs casino had lots of games on offer and the Dodgems offered many a chance to practice their driving skills! How are those bruises today?
Ice cream at midnight, courtesy of Mingella Ice Cream gave everyone a chance to cool down and the two bars kept the party swinging throughout the night. For those who needed their spirits lifting the Vodka Luge ice sculpture was a novel way to have a drink. Anyone found an ice burn on their nose Sunday morning?

The CheekyPix photo booth gave us all a chance to get a fun reminder of a fab evening with the chance to pose in our pretty frocks or dress up in the fun outfits. Here’s a few of the staff…
There were over 20 amazing lots in the silent auction and this along with the raffle has helped to raise a huge sum of money for the theatre. The full amount has not yet been announced but as soon as we know it will be declared here.
