The Railway Children

-

A classic story about family and community, international intrigue and red petticoats – The Railway Children has been a popular family favourite since the novel was published more than a century ago.

Phyllis, Peter and Bobbie have their lives turned upside-down after their father is accused of spying. Amidst their many new adventures, they move slowly towards discovering the truth.

After storming the stage in the summer with their take on Shakespeare’s The Tempest, Winchester’s Blue Apple will be working up a head of steam to warm your hearts this winter. Recreating a time long past but with timeless themes, The Railway Children will be staged with the company’s trademark joyful style including dance, puppetry and film.

Come mothers and sons, come fathers and daughters; the 11.45 train is just about to pull in.

Blue Apple is an inspirational and ambitious theatrical company that supports performers with learning disabilities to develop and present high quality productions for the widest possible audiences – performing and touring theatre, dance and film within a variety of large and small scale venues around Hampshire and the southern regions, as well as nationally and internationally.
