About Drama & Theatre (School Years 10+)
Ambition, focus and imagination!
Designed for young people (up to age 19) wanting to challenge themselves as serious contemporary theatre-makers.
This advanced group provides a creative space for young people to challenge themselves, develop as performers and work with ambition, focus and imagination.
Summer term: Break out of the auditorium to create an ambitious, site-specific outdoor performance for Winchester's outdoor arts festival, Hat Fair.
Term dates
- Autumn: 21 September 2026 to 30 November 2026.
- Spring: 4 January 2027 to 15 March 2027.
- Summer: 19 April 2027 to 28 June 2027.
Price includes all three terms.

Financial support
We want Playmakers Youth Theatre to be accessible to all young people. Bursaries are available for families who may find the cost of taking part a barrier.
You may be eligible for support if:
- Your household receives means-tested benefits, or your young person receives free school meals or Pupil Premium support.
- Your family is from a sanctuary‑seeking background, (including refugees and people seeking asylum.)
- Your family is experiencing a change in circumstances or other financial pressures.
You will not be asked to complete a formal application or provide financial evidence. Simply email our Young People’s Producer at shian@playtothecrowd.co.uk for a confidential and informal conversation. You do not need to explain your circumstances in detail. We will consider each request individually.
