Dan oversees and leads strategy for; finance, HR, front of house and technical operations, bar and social enterprise income, health and safety, and building operations.
Dan has a long career in the charity sector with a particular interest in youth work and mental health and wellbeing. While training to be a youth worker, he took part time roles at the Nuffield Theatre and Turner Sims Concert Hall in Southampton, where he gained experience in tech, box office and front of house jobs as well as cementing his love of all things theatrical and events based.
He went on to lead on innovative mental health initiatives for young people and establish a substance misuse service within the Youth Offending Team before taking some time in the corporate and business world and then returning to mental health charities to lead on establishing new services, transforming underachieving services and generating income. The call of performing arts couldn't be ignored, and he joined Play to the Crowd in 2023.
Dan loves dogs, especially his own Spaniel and Chihuahua. He spent 20 years living on a houseboat, an experience he describes as 'lots of fun but a bit damp'. Dan is a handy motor mechanic with a passion for rather bland family cars from the 1990s.
