Access

Hearing impaired

We have a radio frequency (RF) hearing enhancement system in the auditorium. Headsets and Inductive Neckloops are available free of charge, please ask at the Box Office either when booking or before the performance.

We offer sign language interpreted performances for BSL users whenever possible. Please contact the Box Office on 01962 840 440 or boxoffice@playtothecrowd.co.uk for information on selected performances.

Wheelchair users

One ticket can be purchased at 50% discount for an essential companion accompanying a wheelchair user.

The foyer and theatre stalls are all level ground and can be easily accessed by wheelchair or mobility scooter.

We ask if you are attending a performance and transferring to your seat in the auditorium, that we place your wheelchair or mobility device outside the auditorium. This is to ensure the fire exits remain clear.

If you are not transferring to a seat we have a total of 6 wheelchair spaces available in the auditorium. If you require these places please call Box Office on 01962 840 440 as currently these cannot be booked online.

Toilet facilities

Adapted facilities are available on the ground floor in our foyer which has level access.

Access performances

We offer a number of Access performances throughout our programme. Details of specific accessible performance times can be found on the relevant events pages on our website. Visit What's on

Relaxed performances

These performances welcome individuals, groups and families with children on the autistic spectrum, sensory and communication disorders, a learning disability or anyone who may be afraid of the dark.

Relaxed performances have an informal atmosphere and allow people who may need to move around, make a noise or take a break the chance to see a show without worrying.

The auditorium lights will be brighter and adjustments will be made to the show such as the removal of loud noises and bright, flashing lights.

We can provide a visual story tool to anyone feeling curious or anxious about visiting the theatre. Please let our Box Office know if you would like to receive this.

Audio Described performances and Touch Tours

Visually impaired audiences can listen to a narrator describing the action on stage between the dialogue via a set of headphones at our Audio Described performances.

Touch Tours take place ahead of the Audio Described performances and allow the audience members to visit the set and feel the props to familiarise themselves ahead of the show. Touch Tours take place 1 hour before the performance time, where available.

BSL Interpreted performances

During these performances a British Sign Language interpreter stands at the side of the stage clearly visible to the audience and interprets the spoken word and sound effects.

Assistance dogs

Assistance dogs are welcome in all areas of the building. Please talk to our Box Office staff about any special requirements when booking. No other animals are permitted in the main auditorium.
